Religious Education
Our Religious Education program believes that growing in our faith is a lifelong journey, undertaking in community and guided by the Holy Spirit. Our goal is to provide active learning that translates into an active faith life. The focus of each grade is:
Preschool/Kindergarten—God is love
1st Grade—God
2nd Grade—First Reconciliation & First Communion preparation
3rd Grade—The Church
4th Grade—Christian Morality
5th Grade—The Sacraments
6th Grade—The Old Testament/Hebrew Scriptures
7th Grade—What Does It Mean to Be Catholic & Learning about Jesus
8th Grade—Relationships and Morality—Living My Catholic Faith Everyday
9th Grade—Social Justice
10th & 11th Grade—Confirmation Preparation
The Religious Education program at St. Patrick Parish meets on Wednesdays during the school year. We have a Preschool/Kindergarten program for all students who turn 4 on or before September 1, 2007. Our Pre/Kindergartners through 5th graders meet on Wednesday afternoons from 4:15 – 5:30 PM. Our 6 through 12th graders meet on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 – 8:30 PM. All our classes are taught by volunteer Catechists and we meet in the St. Patrick’s School building.
We prepare our 2nd graders to receive First Reconciliation and First Communion. We prepare our 11th graders to receive Confirmation in the fall of their 12th grade year.
